Ellen L. Poreda

Ellen oversees the implementation of employment-based immigration programs for institutional clients, with a focus on the financial services industry. She develops and manages comprehensive immigration programs, creating tailored immigration strategies that can easily adapt to a changing workforce.

For corporate and individual clients, Ellen assists in obtaining immigrant and nonimmigrant visas based upon employment or familial relationships. She advises on nationality issues including the retention of U.S. permanent resident status and the acquisition of U.S. citizenship.

Ellen worked at our associated firm Magrath Sheldrick LLP in London, where she was responsible for U.K. work permit and residency matters, and she continues to focus on corporate transfers between the U.S. and the U.K.

Prior to joining the firm, Ellen was a legal consultant in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and a manager for a Siemens AG joint venture in Beijing, China.

  • Represents global financial services companies and individuals on immigration matters before the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Citizenship and Immigration Services, Customs and Border Protection, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Department of Labor and Department of State
