Danisa Foote

Danisa guides companies in labor and employment matters and designs proactive strategies to stay ahead of changing employment laws. Her practice primarily focuses on representing companies and employers in discrimination, harassment, and retaliation matters. She litigates employment matters including drafting pleadings and dispositive motions, attending court hearings, and conducting depositions as well as managing arbitrations and mediations.

In addition, she advises clients on workplace policies and procedures, employee benefits and workplace investigations. With a focus on compliance with federal and state employment laws, she prepares and reviews employment handbooks, wage and hour issues, accommodations requests, and separation agreements.

Previously, Danisa was a Law Clerk for the American Civil Liberties Union, National Prison Project and a Legal Intern in the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. As a Legal Intern for the New York State Office of the Attorney General, Civil Rights Bureau, she drafted legal memorandum in support of employees receiving minimum wage, overtime compensation, and compensation for unlawful deductions under New York Labor Law.

With an understanding of the employer and employee perspective, Danisa is able to draft effective strategies to ensure compliance and minimize litigation risk for clients.
