Ellen L. Poreda is a partner in the Immigration Practice Group and is responsible for overseeing the implementation of employment based immigration programs of institutional clients, with a specialization in the financial services industry. She assists corporate and individual clients in obtaining immigrant and nonimmigrant visas (based upon employment or familial relationships) and provides advice on nationality issues (including the retention of U.S. permanent resident status and acquisition of U.S. citizenship.). She has practiced at our associated firm of Magrath LLP in London, where she was responsible for U.K. work permit and residency matters. She continues to focus on corporate transfers between the U.S. and the U.K.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Poreda was a legal consultant in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and a manager for a Siemens AG joint venture in Beijing, China. Ms. Poreda is a graduate of Northwestern University and Loyola University School of Law in Chicago. She is also a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
